Coming Home

Dear Diary,

I love being at school more than the average student. Every aspect of college life excites me from being able to be around likeminded peers to learning from professors in class. Coming to college and being on my own has allowed me to feel freedom for the first time in my life with little to no restrictions. I’m able to do what I want when I want without the worries of what my parents think. Due to the uprising of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) I’ve been forced to move back home and I feel as if it’s all been taken away. I don’t get to see my peers anymore and I’m back to following my parent’s rules. It’s depressing at times and makes me feel as if my freedom has been stolen. It’s been a very challenging time mentally to adapt to being under my parent’s oppressive ways of thinking but I’m taking it day by day. I’m sure I’ll get through this and life will be back to normal in no time, I just have to stay strong.
