He Wouldn’t Tell

If you look closely, his scars tell his story.

He grew up an air force brat.  His home life was regimented but his parents were loving and compassionate.  They couldn’t understand why he started to cut himself, they did everything they could to help, but nothing worked.

He wouldn’t tell…

He hurt himself and no one knew why.  His Dr. encouraged him to talk about what he was going through but he couldn’t and didn’t.   He suffered in silence and the only thing he did to run from the shame and humiliation was to cut himself.

He wouldn’t tell…

He was 10 years old when the priest started sexually abusing him.  He was so tired, tired of hurting, tired of feeling shame and tired of blaming himself.

He wouldn’t tell…

His life went from worse to horrible.  The cutting wasn’t enough anymore so he turned to drugs and alcohol to numb his thoughts.  This became his way of life for a very long time.

He wouldn’t tell…

One day in rehab, many many years of destruction later he finally did tell.  His confession started his road to recovery and he is now slowly learning to be proud of who he is. He is starting to shed that pain he has carried with him almost his entire life and he wants to use what happened to him to help others.  He is now back in school learning and changing his life.   There is light after dark and he is living proof of it…

He did tell…
